Domaine Serrigny Savigny-Les-Beaune Rouge 2023
The domaine’s Bourgogne Rouge bottling is made from three distinct parcels of vines in Savigny, with one planted in 1960, one in 1980 and the third in 1995. The wine is given one year of élevage in older barrels prior to assemblage in tank for bottling after six more months of aging. The 2023 version is very strong, offering up a complex bouquet of red and black cherries, a nice touch of Savigny’s red currants, a fine base of soil, gamebird and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, complex and really sports a superb core of fruit this year, with fine soil signature, a touch of tannin, lovely balance and a long, complex and nicely precise finish. A fine example. 2027-2042.
