Tyler Chardonnay 2018

The 2018 Tyler Winery Santa Barbara County Chardonnay opens aromatically with notes of flint, white chalk, with a combination of stone and citrus fruits and a hint of florality. On the palate, the wine is extremely mineral-driven with notes of white pepper and green apples.

Aromas here of guava, mango and citrus rind. The palate is soft and easy but with good posture leading into a finish that is linear and focussed with touches of creamy toast. Tyler’s entry-level Santa Barbara County Chardonnay features top sites in Santa Maria Valley and Sta. Rita Hills and does so at an impressively competitive price-point. The 2018 vintage saw 15% new oak for 11 months with no battonage.
