Laphroaig Elements 3.0
Elements 3.0 is an exclusive small batch single malt whisky, with notes of roasted cocoa beans and bitter dark chocolate. The third installment in Laphroaig's award-winning Elements series, this limited release was the result of a fire in a kiln that burned peat for longer and at higher temperatures than usual. Experimenting with heat brought out chocolate and coffee notes – resulting in this extraordinary whisky.
Laphroaig’s whiskies are always richly flavored and characterful – and Elements 3.0 is certainly no exception. It’s a perfect third component to the series made up of Elements 1.0 and Elements 2.0, which experimented with changing wort and mash tun size, and fermentation times. With Elements 3.0, heat was the focus, creating a flavor profile that ranges from chocolate and spice to leather and sooty chimney smoke on the finish.
