Grand Traverse Cherry Whiskey
Grand Traverse's Cherry Whiskey is the flavored version of their straight bourbon. Made from a base of 70% corn, 20% rye, and 10% malted barley, all distilled, aged and bottled at Grand Traverse Distillery in Traverse City, Michigan. The base whiskey is further flavored by the addition of 3% cherry concentrate from the Leelanau fruit company and bottled at 40% ABV.
The resulting whiskey has all the rich and smooth taste of Grand Traverse's bourbon, with a slight cherry tinge. It's not syrupy or cloying, but fruity and refreshing. Fans of sugary schnapps will be disappointed, but bourbon fans are likely to be pleasantly surprised.
