Domaine Plan de L'Homme Sapiens 2023
This cuvée is a masterful expression of the Terrasses du Larzac terroir. The name "Plan de l'Homme" (originally "Plan de l'Om," meaning Elm in Occitan) pays homage to an ancestral plot of the estate. This organic wine, the result of slow maturation and careful aging in oak barrels, offers a rare complexity. A deep red where the power of the schist meets the elegance of the wood, carried by the mountain freshness that characterizes this exceptional vineyard.
On tasting, the wine reveals an intense purple color. The nose is a complex symphony: aromas of ripe black fruits (cherry, blackberry) are complemented by notes of licorice, sweet spices, and an elegant toasty touch. On the palate, the wine is dense and fleshy, yet remarkably vibrant. The tannins, refined by aging in oak barrels, are exceptionally velvety. The finish is long, marked by the saline freshness typical of the limestone slopes of the Larzac.
