Chateau Tessendey 2020
Decanter: 91 |

The d'Arfeuille family of Château La Serre in St-Emilion also own this lovely Fronsac estate. Muscular yet chalky tannins on the attack, this is pretty intense with lots of rich black chocolate and blueberry, cassis fruits. Needs some time to soften up, has ambition and a sense of momentum. |

The 2020 Tessendey has a lovely, well-defined bouquet with blackberry and bilberry fruit, a light floral note surfacing with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy ripe black fruit, velvet in texture with a seductive, caressing finish. Lovely. |

Aromas of ripe berries with sweet tobacco, walnut and savory herb undertones. Medium-bodied with a meaty structure and velvety tannins. Broad and opulent mid-palate with succulent fruit and a lingering finish. 85% merlot and 15% cabernet franc. Attractive now, but better give it a year or two to soften more. |
