Bushmills 25yr Single Malt Irish Whiskey

___
Immediately one of the longest-aged Irish whiskeys available everyday, Bushmills 25 Year Old builds on the legacy of the world's oldest licensed whiskey distillery with an exceptionally robust spirit. The predominant influence of maturation in first fill ruby port pipes produces a complex and rich whiskey, brimming with notes of ripe and juicy dark fruits.

Triple-distilled from 100% malted barley, the first release of the Bushmills 25 Year Old was filled into Bourbon barrels and Sherry butts on 22nd November 1995 before being re-casked into only 27 "First-Fill" Ruby Port Pipes on 25th October 2001.

This aged spirit shows Irish whiskey's dark side. It retains the enticing fresh-fruit aroma of younger bottlings, plus a luscious layer of butterscotch. On the palate, it's oaky and drying, with complex notes of toffee, dark chocolate, toasted nuts, caramel and a spicy finish. The whiskey is aged for a minimum of 19 years in former oloroso Sherry and Bourbon barrels, then transferred to Madeira casks for the final two years of maturation. Treat it like Scotch: add just a splash of water to open up the flavors.
