Iron Fish Bourbon Finished in Mezcal Barrels

Mythology attributes the origins of Mezcal to a lightning strike of the sacred agave plant, bringing the heavenly, smokey complexity of this quintessential Mexican spirit to earth. The essence of that sacred fire lives in the precious and limited stock of mezcal barrels into which Iron Fish Distillery poured the rich caramel and vanilla notes of their carefully sourced bourbon. This limited pairing explores the subtle interplay of smokey-sweet agave, toasted American oak and subtle rye spice. Happy travels.

The first of its kind in Michigan, Iron Fish Distillery is a field-to-glass craft distillery located just outside Thompsonville, Michigan. They distill a full line of premium quality, small batch spirits (vodka, gin, rum and whiskey) from grains farmed on their fields and carefully source whiskies to age and barrel finish at the farm.
