Michael David Winery Freakshow Red Blend 2020

Deep dark ruby in color, Freakshow Red Wine blend is filled with aromas of raspberry, violet, spice and butterscotch candies. Full bodied but smooth and polished, flavors of black cherry, coffee and blueberry are interwoven with cinnamon and wood smoke, carrying through the smooth and lasting finish.

This blend is full of delicious flavors from varieties that Lodi excels at, namely 54% Syrah, 42% Petite Sirah, and 4% Sezao. Deeply pigmented, with terrific depth of flavor to match, it is soft yet broad on the palate, showing natural sweetness from the fruit's ripeness but no alcoholic heat or stewed character. This would overwhelm a rotisserie chicken but nicely suit a grilled steak or braised lamb shanks.
