CHEV Pinot Noir Russian River Valley 2023

__

Premium, high-energy red that is a concentrated yet elegant expression of the California Russian River Valley.

NOSE
Black cherry compote, ripe strawberry, and black raspberry fill the glass, layered with cola, rose petal, baking spice, and a touch of cocoa and cedar. A whisper of forest floor and orange oil adds dimension.

PALATE
Saturating red–black fruit sweeps across the mid-palate—think maraschino cherry, raspberry coulis, and plum skin—intertwined with vanilla bean, sarsaparilla, and clove. The texture is velvety and seamless with fine but abundant tannins, and the acidity keeps everything poised. The finish fans out with cherry liqueur, cocoa nib, and black tea, lingering long after the sip.

Can be enjoyed earlier after a brief decant (30–45 min), or cellar 6–8+ years as the fruit folds into truffle, dried rose, and savory spice while the tannins melt into a silkier frame.

The palate is concentrated and generous, with velvety tannins, juicy acidity, and flavors of cherry coulis, dark berries, rose petals, and cola spice humming throughout the finish.
James Suckling: 94
This classic, medium-bodied Russian River pinot is an approachable wine with flavors of cloves, cola and and dark chocolate-covered cherries. Juicy and delicious, with nice concentration and saturation on the palate and fine, long tannins. Drink or hold.
