The Hard Truth Barrel Finish Reserve collection started with a selection of the highest quality wine barrels in the world. These were paired with custom blends of Hard Truth’s RW-1 Sweet Mash Rye, each designed to enhance the qualities of the barrels without sacrificing the complexity and richness of the whiskey itself.
Each barrel contributes unique flavor expressions that can’t be replicated, resulting in a perfect marrying of the spice, fruit, and complex mouthfeel of Hard Truth Sweet Mash Rye with a truly unique expression of the distillery or vineyard that these barrels came from.
Sauternes is a French sweet white wine made in the Graves region of Bordeaux, France. The wine is composed of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle grapes that are affected by botrytis cinerea, or noble rot, which causes the grapes to partially raisin, creating a unique, sweet dessert wine. The wine is often rested in French Oak barrels for five-plus years.
