Chateau l'Enclos 2020

The 2020 features a beautiful blazing deep red ruby color. It reveals a complex nose with wild blackberry notes ending with subtle vanilla flavor. The palate balances precise structure with fresh and crunchy raspberry note. A smooth and tasty mouth is sustained by harmonious tannins. The fine-grain tannins reveals all the harmony of this vintage. The 2020 vintage has all the potential of a great wine for the coming decades.

Grape Composition: 88% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 2% Malbec

Gorgeous heady fruity ripe nose, showing some Pomerol glamour. Nice weight with juicy acidify but it’s also quite rich and serious with perfumed scents alongside strong liquorice and clove spice. Focused and quite tense at the moment in terms of texture, though the tannins are supple and this also has clarity and precision with pencil lead, cola cubes, dark chocolate, bitter herbal elements and cocoa powder. Characterful.

The oak is neatly enmeshed and feels delineated and tensile. The palate is medium-bodied with fine but firm tannins, and lightly spiced, with white pepper and sage seasoning the black fruit. Quite structured and powerful on the finish, this is a long-term Saint-Émilion that will benefit from several years in the cellar.
