Chateau de Francs Les Cerisiers 2016
The Chateau de Francs was a military stonghold from 115 to 1453. Yes, It began nearly 2,000 years ago. Only part of the Chateau served as a house, the rest of the building served as military barracks. This all came to an end in 1453 when the English lost the Battle of Castillon and Acquitaine becam Frence again under Henry IV. The history of Chateau de Francs as a winery began in 1985 when 2 dynamic right bank winemakers joined forces, Dominique Hebrard formally of Chateau Cheval Blanc and Hubert de Brouard of Chateau Angelus.
The vineyard is planted 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The Cerisiers blend is usually 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 50% new oak barrels for 12-14 months.

| Often a stunning value, the Les Cerisiers is once again fabulous in 2016. Sweet red cherry, espresso, herbs and crushed flowers wrap around a core of fleshy fruit in a soft, supple Ctes de Bordeaux loaded with personality. Drink this succulent red over the next handful of years. Les Cerisiers remains one of the very best values in Bordeaux today.
