Mezcal Marca Negra Espadin
Mezcal is often referred to as the South of the Border cousin to Islay Scotch. While not every bottle merits this comparison, the new line from Mezcal Marca Negra stands out with distinct smokiness and a strong, proud identity of where it was grown.
Distilled from estate-grown espadín agave averaging 7 to 10 years of age, and double-distilled in pot stills after the agave hearts are roasted in traditional stone lined pits. The Marca Negra expressions each detail things such as location of the distillery, production details, and the name of the Master Mezcalero. The bottle is marked with a black handprint, replicating the hand of the mezcalero (distiller) which, for this expression, is Abel Nolasco Velasco.
