Jeppson's Bourbon 100 Proof
CH Distillery, owner of the Jeppson's brand, picked up 550 barrels of bourbon produced by Indiana's MGP and Kentucky's O.Z. Tyler distilleries. The barrels sat and developed for over four years.
After some blending experiments, CH Distillery struck on a winning flavor profile. There's some nice caramel, brown sugar, vanilla and a moderate amount of oak. The barrels are 21% rye and have a little spiciness to them.
This is not Malort-flavored bourbon, but at 100 proof, it's still going to have quite a kick, just without the cringe-inducing wormwood bitterness that Malort famously produces.
Non-chill filtered and barreled at 100 proof, Jeppson’s Bourbon has notes of caramel, brown sugar and vanilla; and a smooth finish. With a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% barley, it’s also a bourbon with versatility: great for sipping neat or mixing in cocktails. Aged a minimum of 4 years.
