DAOU Vineyards Bodyguard Red 2020
The 2020 Bodyguard sports a vivid, deep purple hue and its intense nose reveals chocolate-covered blueberry, black raspberry, Zante currant, pencil lead, damp forest floor, kirsch, fennel, black olive and a hint of wintergreen. Its palate of black plum, dried cherry and blackberry is bolstered by a firm structure and polished fine-grained tannins. Hints of dusty leather, dried sage and truffle add complexity. Its balance of power and grace leads to a finish of currant, dark chocolate and crushed stone minerality. Winemaker Daniel Daou's newest edition to the exceptional collection is bold and beguiling.

|The 2020 Bodyguard is broader and more layered, with lots of currant fruits, chocolate, and spice as well as full-bodied richness, a round, expansive texture, and a great finish. It's another winner.
