The 2018 Martin Ray Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon opens with notes of black berry, mulberry, with black currant, dried mountain sage, and cedar. A striking mineral-driven backbone with touches of graphite, backed by fleshy acidity, and powerful tannins.

| Very typical for this area of Napa with conifer, pine needles, fresh herbs and currants on the nose, following through to a full body with lots of fruit and a pleasing edge of toasted oak and Spanish cedar. The alcohol comes out a little at the end, but it should balance out nicely with bottle age. |
