In 2012 or so, Fred Noe, 7th Generation Beam Family Distiller, asked his son Freddie if he was sure he wanted to be in the family business. Freddie didn’t hesitate – he said yes. Freddie took on roles all across distillery operations to learn the in’s and out’s of the business. During this time, Freddie discovered a real fascination with tinkering – just like his granddaddy Booker. He was drawn to the practically limitless palette of tastes and flavors created by blending different aged spirits and pushing the boundaries of the whiskey category. Little Book is Freddie’s passion in a bottle and his way of honoring his granddad and family. The name “Little Book” was the nickname given to Freddie growing up by granddad Booker.

Little Book Chapter 3 is the first Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey in the Little Book line from Freddie Noe. “The Road Home” references the road that Booker traveled to and from on a regular basis, the same road his grandfather, Booker, traveled back when he used to work at the distillery.

Little Book Chapter 3 is a blend of four barrel-strength Kentucky Straight Bourbon whiskeys, one from each brand of the original Small Batch Bourbon Collection created by Freddie Noe’s grandfather Booker Noe in the early 1990s. The limited-edition blend consists of a nine-year-old Knob Creek and Basil Hayden’s Bourbons, an 11-year-old Booker’s Bourbon and a 12-year-old Baker’s Bourbon.

“The four liquids that I chose to go into this batch of Little Book are from the original small batch collection that my grandfather, Booker, created,” says Noe. The eighth-generation distiller tinkered with 57 different recipes before landing on the final blend, recipe number 51: a palate loaded with complexity from the vanilla, wood and caramel notes from the Knob Creek and Booker’s Bourbons, balanced by the “spiciness” of Basil Hayden’s. The Baker’s Bourbon imparts a lingering, warm and sweet finish.

Aromas of caramel, smoky barrel char, sweet baking spices and vanilla. The palate is loaded with vanilla, char and dried apricot with lingering oak. The finish is long, warm and sweet, layered with tones of oak.
