Kentucky Owl Bourbon Batch #9
Founded in 1879 by C.M. Dedman on the banks of the Kentucky River, Kentucky Owl, The Wise Man’s Bourbon, has a long and storied history that was interrupted by Prohibition. In 1916, nearly 250,000 gallons of Kentucky Owl were seized by the government and later disappeared in a mysterious warehouse fire. Every drop of this legendary bourbon was gone ... until now.
One hundred years later, C.M. Dedman’s great-great-grandson, Master Blender Dixon Dedman, has resurrected the family bourbon in a series of hand-selected, artfully blended, ultra premium bourbons.
Notes of apple, white grape, cinnamon roll, maple candy, vanilla and rick oak. The taste is of honey, honeysuckle, tea, citrus, caramel and has a pepper spice finish. Batch #9 has a great complex sweetness of fruit and creamy notes across the front palate, then crawls back to some more significant oak notes in the middle, before the spice of the finish spreads across the back of the palate.
