Kilbeggan 18yr Irish Whiskey
One of the distilleries that succumbed during the 20th century was Kilbeggan Distillery, one of the oldest distilleries in Ireland. Officially founded in 1757 in County Westmeath, Kilbeggan Distillery made whiskey for 200 years using pot stills and ran its distillery on power generated by an onsite waterwheel.
Kilbeggan 18 Year-Old Irish Whiskey has been named Best Irish Blended Whiskey in the World for a number of years. It is a blended whiskey, meaning it contains a combination of grain whiskey and pot still whiskey. Released in 2011, Kilbeggan 18-Year-Old is a limited release, with just 4,000 bottles.
Packaged in a handsome presentation case, including a slick inner frame with a magnetically operated closure, this sure looks good on the bar top. Inside, the spirit is a warm, rosy apricot.
