Craigellachie 23yr Single Malt Scotch
In the 1890s, whisky expert Alfred Barnard noted that Craigellachie represented an old-fashioned style of whisky "seldom met with now," which the distillery took as a compliment. Ever since, the Craigellachie Distillery has stubbornly maintained the methods that make their whisky so distinctive. It's why they are one of the very few distilleries that still uses worm tubs to cool the spirit from the stills. The worm tubs bestow the whisky with extra flavors of a strong, sulphury nature and help to create a gutsy dram that rivals whiskies twice its age.
Malty sweetness and a fresh tropical fruit note begin this sensory journey with elements of citrus and toasted oak. Vanilla and spicy cinnamon emerge, invigorated with a zing of menthol freshness.
