Roar Sierra Mar Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018
Sierra Mar Pinot bursts forth with blackberry jam, black cherry, leather and spice. Rich and complex, the wine gains bright accents of plum, skin and forest, and as it opens, tobacco leaf, dark, brambly berry, hints of vanilla, and a thread of shale course through the palate entwined with a light touch of oak and bright spice.
"The 2018 Pinot Noir Sierra Mar Vineyard was all destemmed and will spend 11 months in French oak. It offers a beautiful, exotic bouquet of blueberries, wild strawberries, forest floor, mint, and violets. This gives way to a rich, textured, medium to full-bodied Pinot Noir that has a wonderful floral character, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish." -95pts, Jeb Dunnuck

Ripe pomegranate and candied raspberry aromas meet with potpourri and cinnamon touches on the nose of this bottling from the Franscioni family. The palate is very approachable, with raspberry sorbet flavor and a graphite edge, providing both the richness that the appellation is known for and smart restraint. |
