Ferrari-Carano Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Ferrari-Carano Cabernet Sauvignon comes from mountain-grown fruit in Alexander Valley. Vibrant aromatics of cassis, smoky cedar, mint, caramel and leather awaken the senses, while full-bodied flavors of juicy boysenberry jam and plums generously fill the palate. Lingering notes of toasty licorice round out the finish.
Family-owned and operated since 1985, Ferrari-Carano has been a leading producer of world-class, nationally acclaimed wines. From a small, 30-acre plot of grapes to the present 20 estate vineyards, Don and Rhonda Carano's success is based on their commitment to quality as well as the dedication of the vineyard and winemaking teams to make the finest wines, vintage after vintage. Ferrari-Carano owns vineyards in six appellations: Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley, Napa/Carneros, Anderson Valley and Mendocino Ridge.

A pronounced nose of black cherries, plums and cedar. Full-bodied with velvety tannins. Smoke and leather on the palate, along with plenty of ground spice. Good balance and intensity. |

This gentle Sonoma cabernet is cool and refreshing. Its clarity of flavor brings to mind roses, both in their perfume and in the greenness of their stems, that floral scent infusing the light chocolate notes in the tannins. Pour it with roast quail. |
