Chateau Labadie Medoc 2015
Established in 1970, Chateau Labadie is now managed by the dynamic, young winemaker Jerome Bibey, who farms using sustainable agriculture. Full flavored and complex with bright notes of cherry and plum, with a hint of spice. A versatile companion to red meats, chicken and cheeses.

Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois annual tasting, the 2015 Labadie has an impressive bouquet of blackberry, bilberry and tobacco scents that gain intensity with aeration. I like the focus and breeding here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine line of acidity, fresh from start to finish with a subtle marine note on the finish. This is a very fine Médoc, clearly the best since 2010. Tasted September 2017.

Big ripe fruit and a generous body are matched by lively acidity and rather elegant tannins in this modern style Medoc that has a long, rather polished finish. Drink or hold.
